Work on Maesteg Town Hall’s Iconic Clock

Our iconic clock has been taken apart and its mechanism taken out to provide unhindered access for the structural works needed to the tower, and to protect it during the process.
This is being carried out by Smith of Derby, renowned clockmakers since 1856. The company has looked after our clock for many years, and can boast having restored the clock of St David’s Cathedral and built and looked after the clocks of St Paul’s Cathedral and Shanghai Customs House – the largest clock in Asia.
Our clock is in safe hands and will be restored to its full glory.
